Although each patient is different, in general you will need complete bed rest for the first several days following the procedure. You will have been hospitalised for the procedure then you can expect to be in hospital for between 3-4 days. A supporting girdle is worn to help ensure optimal healing and contouring. Returning to your normal activities is an individual matter but most people return to work within two to four weeks. However more vigorous exercise should be avoided for 6-8 weeks after the surgery.
