Payments
At Meditravel our goal is simple, we want to simplify thing as much as possible. Obviously you have to make payments for surgery, travel and booking fees and we like to provide up front cost on everything to our clients. Our promise to our clients will always be that we won't mislead them intentionally to the final cost on their surgery and travel. If we can help it, you won't have any financial surprises. Meditravel now has in place measures to both assist our clients as well as save them money on the currency conversions on their surgery costs.
Surgery
Please be aware that all surgery/dental is priced and always paid in Thai Baht. Although you can use our online estimate system to obtain estimate cost you will receive the Thai Baht price and a currency conversion in Australian Dollars, (or currency of your choice). The THB price indicated in the estimate system or as provided to you by one of our consultants will not change; the approximate cost in the converted currency however may change.
Phuket I hospitals accepts overseas bank transfer payments either as deposits, partial or full payment as well as E-commerce payments made though their website for plastic surgery procedures. They requires payment in Thai Baht currency and payment in full is generally required upon admission and certainly before your surgery.
Clients may make bank to bank money transfer payments to the hospital at least three weeks prior to the first appointment date. If making a money transfer, clients will generally get a better rate of exchange if they instruct their home county bank to convert their foreign currency to Thai Baht in Thailand. Making a bank Transfer is generally the best way of ensuring you have paid for your surgery and clients will get a better exchange rate than using the hospitals E-commerce online option or by paying with their credit card when in Thailand.
When clients elect to make a bank deposit payment, clients should be aware that the following will apply:
-
Meditravel and the Hospital funds transferred to accept no responsibility, nor will they be liable for misplaced funds, not cleared prior to arrival or errors in banking.
-
Meditravel or the Hospital will not be responsible for any bank charges, fees or differences in exchange rates that may apply when making a bank transfer and will confirm that the deposit amount has been received, in Thai Baht, only when all of the above charges and fees have been deducted.
-
Clients should be advises that it can take up to 7 working days for funds to clear normal Thailand banking requirements and that transferred funds may not be available until after this 7 day period.
-
DMT or the Hospital have no control over international banking policy nor how foreign exchanges apply and can only confirm that a deposit has been made once it has cleared all banking formalities
-
In order to get the best rates of exchange, clients are advised to transfer to Thailand Australian Dollars (AUD$) and ensure that their bank sends AUD$ to Thailand. Currency exchange from AUD$ to Thai Baht will then be made in Thailand.
-
Once a deposit has been made, clients are to provide Meditravel with a copy of the bank deposit slip. This document should be scanned and emailed or faxed to DMT, clearly showing the bank name, name of person making deposit or client name, amount of deposit, date of deposit and contain the bank’s official stamp or seal. The authorized bank deposit slip is not confirmation that a payment has been received by hospital and
only assists in tracking of the payment
Under/Over Payments
Where a client has made a deposit which is in excess or over the Hospital Surgery amount, or if the client is not to undertake a procedure for whatever reason, the hospital will refund in Thai Baht cash to the client the deposit amount. Refund deposit amounts may take up to two bank working days to be available.
E-Payments
Clients may make E-Payments at any time thought he hospital’s website. Payments are instant and available only when using a VISA or MasterCard. To perform a E-Payment, contact your consultant to obtain a instruction sheet.
Credit Cards
Hospitals and Dental Clinics in Thailand all accept major credit cards of Visa, Mastercard and Bankcard. Visa debit cards are also accepted.
If using a credit card for surgery please ensure that you have sufficient funds available. ATM or Debit cards are accepted , however they generally are limited in the amount that you may withdraw at one time by your bank to 20,000 THB per day. DMT or the Hospital/Dental are not responsible for any additional fees that your bank may charge you when using a Visa or Debit card in Thailand.
